Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Testing

In grades 6 through 10, three times a year, we monitor English reading, writing and mathematics progress through the internationally recognized Measures of Academic Progress test. The MAP test is a computerized adaptive test which helps teachers, parents, and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child’s academic growth. This ensures targeted and personalized instruction aligns with student progress and needs.  Students in Grades 11 and 12 complete the SAT or ACT internationally administered college entrance exams in preparation for college admissions requirements.

Social and Emotional Development

Broad academic exposure is combined with new opportunities for spiritual and social growth, leadership development, and outlets for discovering their talents to create major transformation during these years. This includes managing friendships, global and digital citizenship, online safety, and conflict management. Through our social and emotional development programs we help students understand how to build positive relationships and make informed, responsible choices.

Middle School
Grades 6-8

The Middle School Grades 6 through 8 are wonderful years for exploration of personal interests and increased clarity on strengths that will lead them towards further focus in their High School Grades 9 through 10. Middle School students have increased challenge and opportunities in academics, athletics, and fine arts offerings. English language learning includes English language and more complex literary themes, science projects, advanced mathematics through Algebra, and history of the ancient and modern world. The boundless energy of Middle School students is supported through our physical education courses and Saturday sports programs, which include tennis and basketball. Middle School students learn skills in English communication and collaboration.

High School
Grades 9-12

Our internationally recognized college-preparatory diploma provides our graduates with exceptional global pathways for higher education in Europe, Asia, and North America. The International Academy offers the Advanced Placement (AP) college-preparatory program administered by the College Board, an organization whose mission is to connect students to university opportunity and success. The College Board also administers the SAT college entrance examination.

More than 4,000 international universities in over 100 countries recognize the AP program. High School students may take AP courses and exams, in accordance with the guidelines of our school policy. Through our AP courses, students have shown exceptional aptitude and entered top universities and institutes worldwide. Upon completion of an AP course, many universities consider the course to be equivalent to the same course offered by their university.

Through our college guidance program, we advise students on the courses they should complete for their desired university specialization and on how to prepare for college entrance (SAT and ACT) and AP exams. Our rigorous diploma requires the completion of 24 credits (1 credit = 120 academic hours) in core subjects of English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and Worldview, as well as additional courses aligned with their learning goals. Our physical education classes meet in state-of-the-art professional sports facilities. Our extensive World Languages offerings include Russian, Mandarin, and German. Our students actively engage with topics from a variety of disciplines and worldviews, gaining appreciation for multiple perspectives, and preparing them for life and work in the 21st century.
