International Academy offers an internationally recognized K-12 diploma with U.S. and international accreditation. Kindergarten is the first required year in the American international school program (it is equivalent to Year 1 in the British program). In Kindergarten, our students learn to read, write, and reason mathematically in English and acquire proper pronunciation through social interaction. Children ages 4-6 may be considered for application to Kindergarten.
An oral interview, a grammar test and a short essay on assigned topics will be used to determine the student’s level of English for English Language Learning (ELL) placement.
All new students should apply through our new student application process. A student may be considered for enrollment when International Academy St. Petersburg has received the following:
International Academy Saint Petersburg admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. International Academy Saint Petersburg does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
Students are eligible for admittance to a specific grade level based on their date of birth and subsequent age. To be eligible for a given grade level, a student must have turned the required age on or before July 1 of the school year in which he/she is seeking enrollment. As an example, a student must have turned 5 on or before July 1, 2026 in order to be eligible for Kindergarten during the 2026-2027 school year.
